2023’s Most Terrifying Security Stats
Usually at Bugcrowd, we don’t like to buy into language that promotes fear, uncertainty, and doubt in order to scare people about the state of cybersecurity. But considering it is officially Spooky Season, we figure it’s ok to bring up the nightmares that haunt us in the middle of the night.
It’s not just the Halloween season that has this on our minds, considering October is also Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The 20th annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a collaborative effort between the U.S. government and the security industry to enhance cybersecurity awareness, encourage actions by the public to reduce online risk, and generate discussion on cyber threats on a national and global scale. This year’s theme is Secure our World.
For cybersecurity professionals, Cybersecurity Awareness Month can feel a little bit repetitive. Security is always top of mind as professionals constantly work to keep their organizations secure. Frankly, their jobs are getting harder. 89% of security professionals believe that security threats are more serious now than before the pandemic and 88% of security professionals believe their roles have become more difficult in the past three years.
This infographic covers some of Bugcrowd’s biggest findings from recent reports like Inside the Mind of a Hacker. It highlights concerning trends in the security industry with downright terrifying consequences. In cybersecurity, the spooky season lasts longer than October. Check out this infographic, if you dare…
